Interview with Marla LaRue
MARIA G. MAAS: How did you get started working with angels?
MARLA LARUE: Working with the angels has been an evolving process throughout my life. I noticed that I was often helping others, I was also receiving help from the angels when I requested help and I became very interested in learning more about angels and how to bring their willingness to help people available to others. In my work as an angel practitioner, I think of my working with the angels as a blessing.
Since I was a child, I have always felt a close connection to the angels and it seemed natural to include angels in everything that I do. When I was 4 years old, my Sunday School teacher chose me to be the Archangel Gabriel in our church's Sunday School Christmas pageant play and I was very excited and felt honored to be chosen to be Gabriel, God's Messenger Angel to announce Jesus' birth to Mary. At an early age, I began to understand that angels are messengers for God and angels help to do God's work, but angels also like to help us to do other things too as long as it is in alignment with the highest good for all involved. I've always thought of angels as being a part of my life. I would often talk to my angels and try to welcome them in everything that I do.
Then in 1992, an angel included me in their work when during a snow storm, I was awakened by the guardian angel of a young man who needed help because he had slipped and fallen unconscious into deep snow and he was in danger of being struck by a snow plow and also freezing to death, if he stayed laying there in the snow. His guardian angel came to me, with a strong sense of urgency, pulled me out of bed and led me to the snow bank which was a few blocks distance from my house. I knew that I had to act quickly to get the young man up and out of the snow before the snow plow would run over him. With the angel's help, he was as light as a feather to lift and I was able to move the young man out of harms way. As he began to regain consciousness, he told me that he lived on Pine Street and so I drove him home and we were greeted by his mother who had prayed to God, Jesus and the angels to help her son because he had gone to the store and was gone for a very long time. I was happy that the young man's guardian angel came to me to help him. It was interesting to be an assistant to an angel who was invisible to most people.
When I work with the angels, I wait until I see the angels' lights and then I know that I have connected directly to the angels. I know that the angels are near me when I see their lights. I often see their faces, but some of the angel's faces are not beautiful, or pleasant, but they are very deeply loving and caring beings of Divine Light.
Working with angels is truly a blessing and it's also a lifestyle. I enjoy working with angels and inviting the angels to be with me and including the angels in everything that I do. I try to do angelic work and be like an angel to others; for example in the past by being a good Samaritan to people; sponsoring children through organizations like Christian Children International: sponsoring and helping a stranger who was escaping from a communist country; mailing Bibles to people around the world, etc. I also have a favorite charity which I donate to because that charity is always sending me things with angels on them.
MARIA G. MAAS: For Certified Angel Practitioners™ or other certifications: Why did you get certified? What was that like?
MARLA LARUE: I wanted to be certified in angel practitioner work of some kind, so I was led to become a certified angel guide and angel card certification courses to have some professional credentials, because I think that it is good to have received some kind of approved certified professional angel training. I tried to stay focused and I did the Angel Guide course work every day until I completed the course and received my certification. I was very excited and had a lot of enthusiasm for learning everything that I could about the angels.
The Energy Medicine Professional Association recognizes angel card readings and angel practitioners as a form of "subtle energy medicine".
My angels enjoy using angel cards to give people guidance and messages by putting their angel lights on the cards to light up the cards that share a message for the person who is receiving the angel card reading.
I enrolled and became certified for both the beginning and advanced angel card reader with Hay House, under the direction of Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. I also received the "Angel Guide" certification from Hay House with Kyle Gray. I'm hoping to become an IAAP certified angel practitioner in the future.
When my mother died on March 20, 2020, the first thing that she said to me when she appeared to me after her death was, "Will you teach me how to read angel cards with you?" I was laughing and smiling and felt comforted to know that my deceased mother wants me to teach her how to read angel cards with me.
MARIA G. MAAS: How do you differentiate the work that you do from that of other angel practitioners?
MARLA LARUE: I am an angel intuitive and angel medium and I work directly with the angels who inspire people to come to me, who need the angels help or who the angels have a message for. I connect with the angels through heartlight communication.
MARIA G. MAAS: What's the most amazing encounter you’ve ever had with an angel?
MARLA LARUE: All angel encounters are amazing! Here are 2 of my favorites:
1- One time, around Midsummer's, I was hiking the Summit of the Zugspitzen Gipfeln in Germany and I was alone, when I slipped and fell. I now was holding onto an icy wedge of snow and was dangling over a cliff high above the Grand Canyon of the German Austrian Alps. I then suddenly realized that I needed help quickly and I began calling for help and within seconds, an angel arrived to save me who had shining radiant hair as bright as the sun and the most beautiful deep purple-blue eyes that I have ever seen. The angel gently took my hand, pulled me back up the mountain onto solid snow, turned me around, brushed the snow off of me, and when I turned around to thank the angel, the angel had vanished and was gone.
2- While driving to college one morning during exam week, it began to snow like a blizzard. I was driving on the interstate highway when I saw cars ahead of me begin scrambling on the ice in a pile up near the next exit. The highway was a solid sheet of ice and I had no control over my car which was fast sliding towards the pile of cars, when suddenly the pile of cars parted and my car drove straight through the center of them unharmed, it was as though I was traveling in slow motion, but upon arriving safely on the other side, I then saw that I was on course to have a head on collision with another car, but when it came within a car's length of hitting my car, it was levitated straight up into the air and as it passed my car, I saw a smiling angel driving and waving hello to me and the angel safely landed the other car in the snow on the side of the road and there were no car accidents. I continued on my way to college and in a state of shock, wonder and gratitude.
MARIA G. MAAS: Do you have a favorite angel book or deck that you have found particularly inspirational, informational, and/or helpful? If so, please provide the title, author’s name, and explain what you appreciated about it.
MARLA LARUE: "The Angel Practitioner Handbook: A Foundation Guide" by Maria G. Maas, Angel Practitioner Founder, has become my favorite angel book because it is inspired by and guided by the angels when Maria wrote it and what I greatly appreciate is that it has all the most important and essential information that you need to know to be an angel practitioner.
Maria's book includes teachings of angelology, how to do angel energy work, how to connect to the angels to receive angel guidance and messages, how to work with angel oracle cards, 15 Archangels with their attributes, angel numbers and angel numerology of the Archangel names , how to work as an angel practitioner and much more.
The angel card decks that I use in my angel guide practitioner work are:
1- The Archangel Tarot.
2- Angel Therapy oracle cards.
3- Archangel Raphael Healing cards.
4- Angel Prayers cards.
5- The Angel Tarot.
I use angel cards that are the person's favorites. I chose these angel cards, because they are easy for people to understand and many of the cards have nice images of angels and messages on them. All of these angel cards are published by Hay House.
MARIA G. MAAS: Do you think more and more practitioners will be working with angels?
MARLA LARUE: Yes. I think that there will be more and more practitioners being called to work with the angels --- or that the angels will choose them, because it is work that is gentle compassionate, pleasant and many people enjoy working with angels. I think that Angel Practitioners are practicing the energy medicine and healing of the future. As well, I think that more and more people will want to experience angel practitioner work. The work of angel practitioners is holistic and helps to provide healing to every aspect of a person's life, but it is the angels who do the healing which have sometimes been reported to be instantaneous and miraculous.
MARIA G. MAAS: Some people criticize those who charge for their spiritual work. What’s your opinion about this?
MARLA LARUE: The work that angel practitioners do is recognized by the Energy Medicine Professionals Association as a form of subtle energy, and a valid energy medicine healing modality and angel practitioners are just as worthy of receiving payment for their work as are licensed conventional mainstream healthcare practitioners receive payment for their work.
MARIA G. MAAS: What has your experience as an IAAP Member been like?
MARLA LARUE: I feel that my membership in the IAAP is a good investment. Since joining IAAP, I feel that people have greater respect and recognition for my angel practitioner work. I'm glad that I joined the IAAP. I have felt warmly welcomed into the group of IAAP angel practitioners. I am very grateful to be a Gold member of the IAAP organization which is led by Maria Maas, the Founder, who is very kind, caring, helpful and understanding. I enjoy being a Gold member and to have the opportunity to write articles for the IAAP angel blog and to meet like-minded angel practitioners within our angel practitioners group.
MARIA G. MAAS: What advice do you have for those who would like to get started working with angels?
MARLA LARUE: Start working with the angels today by becoming a gold IAAP member and reading "The Angel Practitioner Handbook: A Foundation Guide" by Maria G. Maas, Angel Practitioner Founder, and ask to be notified when the next angel practitioner classes will begin.
MARIA G. MAAS: In light of the new normal with the social-distancing requirements due to the COVID-19 pandemic what modifications have you made in your practice?
MARLA LARUE: All of my angel practitioner work can be done remotely, online, by using phone or email.
MARIA G. MAAS: Is there anything else about you or your practice that you’d like to share?
MARLA LARUE: I work with the angels to help you to receive Divine intervention and to receive angel messages about what the angels want you to know. Did you also know that there is an angel that rules over the day that you were born? Your day of birth can tell you what the ruling angels are during the time of your birth and their attributes which can also influence your life, purpose and future. Every day of the year has its own specific angel which can influence your plans for that day or that week.
In addition to being a certified Angel Guide and advanced angel card reader, I also hold certifications for Reiki master teacher, numerology, being an ordained board certified doctoral level metaphysical minister, certified Delphi Spiritual Counselor and Life Optimization Coach. - Take your angel work seriously and professionally.
- Working with the angels is a lifestyle.
- Be "all in" with your work as an angel practitioner and be dedicated.
- Always be mindful that your angels are with you and that they truly love to help you with everything that you do.
- Treat your angels with the same kindness, caring, gratitude, adoration, devotion, joy and respect that you would want your angels to give to you.
- Let the angels be your mentor and let them guide you in your angel work.
- Know that the angels are always with you and always remember to acknowledge their presence and thank them for their helping you in your angel work.
- Listen carefully for the angels whispering and singing inside your mind and in your dreams.
- Look for angel signs and flashes of lights that the angels are with you and near you.
